La Gaspésie et plus - les vacances commençent

It's been a couple of years since we've both taken a long vacation - the last time was our trip to England in 2008 with Sira.  Okay, so we do short trips to Stratford, London (Ontario), Massena NY.  But we usually take a long trip every second year to exotic or faraway places - Ghana, Sabah, or jolly olde Englande.  This year we're staying closer to home and visiting a part of Canada that has fascinated me ever since I was in Grade 3 at Shediac Central School (Wow!! That's going way, way back!!).

We had a fantastic geography book that took us from one end of Canada to the other - from Newfoundland to British Columbia - even by train.  I always remember one of those chapters on the Gaspé and Roche Perce.  I remember thinking back then  ...... one of these days...........!!

It took a bit of time but we're gonna finally get to see the rock right up close.  So close that we'll reach out and touch it.  Okay?

But first we have to leave the house and make our way to Quebec City.
